My Weight Loss Journey – Week 17

I didn’t try any fabulous new recipes this past week. I was too busy eating my leftover pizza, and then getting back to my regular meal plan, but I’m hoping to try something new this week so I can report back next Monday.

I can hardly believe I’ve been doing Weight Watchers for 17 weeks now! I didn’t realize it until after I posted my progress last week, but I am a quarter of the way to my goal weight, so that was a significant milestone! Today, I am down 1.2 pounds for a total of 35.6 pounds! I still have a long way to go, but I’m just trying to take it day by day.

Speaking of goals, this weekend I decided it’s time for me to start getting more active if I want to continue making good progress on my weight loss goals. This presents a challenge for me because, I hate going to the gym. Gyms intimidate me so even if I signed up, I might go a bit at first, but that would quickly fall by the wayside. I do enjoy working out at home to workout videos, but I find it hard to get motivated.

After polling my friends and family on Facebook to ask their opinions, I went out and bought a Fitbit this weekend. I’ve only had it for two days, but so far it has been fun. I’m hoping that once I add a few of my friends, it will keep me motivated enough to keep me moving. And I love that it has an option to remind you to move throughout the day, because when I’m working I sometimes get so focussed that I don’t realize how long I’ve  been sitting. It is making me much more aware of how much I move (or don’t) so that has to be a good thing! I’ll let you know next week how it’s working for me!

    1. Thanks! I’m hoping I can keep motivated! I used to find some hiking trails in my old home town. I should probably find some around here, or at the very least, some walking paths. Great idea!

  1. I really just hate anything that is exercise!! My hubby is a workout fanatic – no way not for me. I love activities like hiking/walking – the added benefit there is that studies show just being outdoors is a huge mood lifter! I love playing badminton, swimming, bowling – things like that which are actually fun. 😀

    1. I hear you. I like doing workout videos if they are fun, or dancing and things that don’t feel like exercise. I like hiking too, but I haven’t investigated trails around where I live….I also hate bugs, and ticks are becoming a problem in my area, so it keeps me away from nature trails. I used to love bowling, but since herniating discs in my neck I can’t do it. (Getting older sucks, lol) All great ideas!
