My Weight Loss Journey – Week 24

It’s time for me weekly update!  Since I ate out so much during week 23, I was very mindful of what I was eating this week. I was also mindful of my water intake, and tried to get a little more active since I’ve been slacking again, and it has paid off! I hit another major goal in my journey to a healthier me, I lost 5 pounds this week for a total now of 53.1 pounds!

On the new foods front, I tried two new recipes this week.

The first was for California Pokecado Toast, by  Andrea at Cooking with a Wallflower. Unfortunately, when I tested out this recipe I did not take any pictures, so you’ll just have to go to her blog to see how yummy it looks!

Since I was cooking for one, I halved the recipe. I also used canned crab meat in place of the imitation crab that Andrea used in her recipe. It was very good, but I think next time (and there will definitely be a next time) I will try it with the imitation crab. I found the canned crab meat was quite bland, and I know that imitation crab is quite flavourful.

The second recipe I tried this week was the delicious whole grain bread I made for the Fantastic Bake Along, hosted by Tracy at It’s a T-Sweets Day! The recipe for the bread was supplied by Kathy at Sewing Etc. and I have to say it was delicious! You can check out how my bread turned out here. It was so good that I think I’ll make that yummy California Pokecado Toast using it! (What a great idea!) I also want to try making this recipe again, and dividing it to make dinner rolls.

That’s it for this week! Hoping for another successful report next week, although I don’t think the weight loss will be nearly as dramatic! Have a great week!
