Cruise Homework – Project Linus Squares Complete

Cruise Homework part 1

Work has been keeping me super busy, so I’m behind on reading blog posts (I have about 200 blog emails sitting in my inbox at the moment), and I seem to have misplaced my crafting mojo, and haven’t located it yet. I’m hoping it comes back before my cruise in three weeks otherwise I’m in big trouble. My friends and I are headed for the Caribbean with some fellow crocheters, along with The Crochet Crowd! It’s going to be a fun time!

As some of you may recall, way back before Christmas we were each asked to make at least 9 squares to take with us on the cruise. Once there, we will exchange squares with other cruisers, and use them to make blankets for Project Linus. I had my squares made, quite a while ago, except for the decorations on them. I don’t know why I lost my enthusiasm, maybe it was the sewing bit. (I really dislike sewing things onto crocheted objects.) But this past week I finally got my squares completed!

I actually have 10 squares made. The one at the top left above, was my practice square and I’m not sure if I’ll include it. I didn’t like embroidering the features on, so for the rest I created pieces and then sewed them on. The only part that is embroidered now is the mouth.

I think they turned out pretty well. I am hoping I have a bit of time before the cruise to block them a bit to get rid of the curly corners, but work is keeping me super busy, so I don’t know if it will happen.

That’s my crafty post for today! Now I’m off to catch up on all the fantastic blog posts I’ve been missing!
