I fell behind in scheduling book reviews, and I’m too tired to get one ready to publish in the morning when I’m planning for this to post. I’m trying to stick to a regular schedule, so today you get a filler post.
This painting in my watercolor sketchbook was a tutorial from Diane Antone Studios on YouTube. Here’s the link to her tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNhRLfoXyrQ&t=5s
I downloaded the sketch from her website here: https://dianeantone.com/product/seaside-cottage-sketch/
I love Diane’s tutorials, they are informative, relaxing, and just fun to listen to. My version of the painting could use improvement, but I’m wanting to learn to paint a little more loosely, and I enjoyed the process.
This was also my first painting in my new Winsor & Newton Professional watercolor book. I really liked painting in it. I’ve been having trouble finding watercolor journals with 100% cotton paper. I find lots of paper pads, and blocks, but very few bound books, and I like to work in a journal sometimes, I don’t always want loose paper. I like this book enough that I’ll probably look for another when I get close to filling this one.
I have a watercolor project in the works but it’s a bit of a secret because it’s a gift for a friend. I hope that I can post about it around Christmas time if I can get it done and shipped to her. Wish me luck with that. I’m notoriously bad at getting things into the mail.
