Happy New Year – 2019

I can hardly believe that 2018 has come and gone already. I have been mostly absent since early last year, checking in only once in a while to share something. I’m hoping that in 2019 I find myself back in blogging and crafting mode. I have set a few goals for myself, and I’m trying to start the new year off on the right foot (not by standing on my right foot at midnight last night, as suggested by a Facebook meme, either).

A Night at the Theatre: Phantom of the Opera

I fell in love with The Phantom of the Opera back when I was in high school. The first time I saw it, a friend had organized for a bunch of us to join a bus trip to Toronto to see it at the Pantages Theatre. I really had no idea what the story was about, so on the way up I read the book by Gaston Leroux, and I was really glad that I did because it gave me a much better appreciation of what was going on on stage. I fell in love with the spectacular music, and the beautiful costumes, and the venue made it a special experience.

Exciting Mail

I was so excited a few weeks ago to learn that I had won the first prize in Julia’s giveaway at Julia’s Creative Year. I am a little embarrassed to say that when she contact me I had actually kind of forgotten that I had entered. I usually enter these things, and assume that I won’t win, so I don’t keep track of them, I guess I should because I seem to be on more of a lucky streak lately.
