Still Loving Watercolour

Winter scene inspired by a photo on Pixabay

I’m a bit behind on scheduling book reviews and it’s late in the day on Friday night so a quick update on my attempt to learn watercolour seemed easiest.

As you can see, I’m continuing with my watercolour journey, and I’m still in love with that medium. I really wish I had started to learn years ago, but I guess better late than never, as they say.

I have a super secret project that I’m dying to share, but it’s a gift for a friend so until I can get it to her, I have to control my urge to post it.

In the meantime, I’ve been doing more tutorials, and testing my new skills trying to apply them to photos.

In the gallery below, the top row, and the painting on the bottom left were lessons from a book that I’ve had for a few years. The other two paintings in the bottom row are my attempts to paint a couple of photos from Pixabay. I really need to work on my dark clouds and then try them again.

In case you’re wondering about the book, it’s the one pictured here. 30 Minute Landscapes by Paul Talbot Greaves.

And if you’re interested, here are the links to the photos that inspired the other two paintings.

And finally, here is the link to the inspiration photo for the winter scene at the beginning of this post.

That’s all for now, I think! Hopefully I can get a couple of reviews written this weekend to get a bit ahead again!
