Christmas at Tullymullagh

Christmas at Tullymullagh is book 7 in Claire Delacroix’s Bride Quest series and takes place after The Countess,  the fourth  book in the series.

It’s a lovely novella that felt like a visit with old friends as they prepare for, and gather together to celebrate the holiday season. Meanwhile a resident ghost learns the value of forgiveness as he seeks a way to be at rest and join his beloved wife’s spirit.

This was a nice quick read for the holiday season.

Easter at Airdfinnan

Easter at Airdfinnan  is book 8  in Claire Delacroix’s Bride Quest series and takes place six years after The Temptress.

It is a beautiful story of a second chance at  love between two young people, Nicholas and Margaret, who seem to be star-crossed.

Nicholas and Margaret fell in love three years ago, but after after spending a single night together, each believes the other to have abandoned them without a second thought. Now Nicholas is about to become betrothed to Margaret’s cousin!

I just loved this novella. Margaret was a strong, somewhat independent woman with a talent for silver smithing, and the ability to speak her mind. I loved the interactions between her and Nicholas, and her refusal to give up her vocation, even if it meant losing her love. I think my favourite scene was the song battle (for want of a better word) between the two in front of everyone at the feast. So much fun!

I received both of these books early as part of a Kickstarter celebrating the 25th anniversary of the series, but they will both be available in ebook on December 12 2023.
