The Wolf is book 1 in Hildie McQueen’s new series, Clan Ross of Skye.
Munro Ross, brother to the laird, agrees to marry Lila MacKinnon, the downtrodden daughter of his clan’s arch-nemesis. But even though he chose her over her conniving sisters, he is still suspicious of Lila and fails to protect her as he should. Even in the Ross household, she ends up on the receiving end of some horrendous physical violence, although not from Munro or his immediate family, and the perpetrators are harshly punished.
Filled with action and betrayals, The Wolf kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. My only problem with this book is that I would have liked to have seen more interactions between Munro and Lila, but that wish was somewhat satisfied with the epilogue at the end of the book.
I’m looking forward to reading the other books in this series to see what he author has in store for Clan Ross.
