ARC Review: Taken to the Grave by Cara Devlin

Cover of book Taken to the Grave by Cara Devlin.

Taken to the Grave is book 7 in Cara Devlin’s A Bow Street Duchess Mystery series.

Because there is an overarching storyline involving some of the main characters in this series,I do think a reader would benefit from reading the series in order. Having said that, I came to this series late in the game having only found it with book 6 of the series, but I immediately became interested in these characters and wanted to see how the story ends. I still intend to go back and read from the beginning to find out how everything started.

In this, final book in the series, Hugh is approached by two ladies who beg him to search for a missing girl. Soon he and Audrey are drawn into a bigger mystery involving multiple murders, and the possibility of the involvement of powerful members of the ton.

And among all of the mystery, and intrigue, Hugh and Audrey  are finally starting to make their relationship public, after the end of Audrey’s official mourning period.

This was a suspenseful read, as Hugh and Audrey searched for the missing girl, and made the connections to other deaths in London, including one very close to home.

I really enjoyed the relationships between all of the characters, and almost wished the series would continue so that I could see if anything developed between a couple of the supporting characters.

If you love a suspenseful  mystery, and historical romance, I think you will enjoy Taken to the Grave.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Taken to the Grave will be available on March 23 2024 on Amazon and will be included in the Kindle Unlimited program.
