Fake Dating the Dragon is book 4 in Lilith Stones Motham City Monsters paranormal romance series. I’ve been reading this series since book one, but in my opinion, the author provides enough background that a reader could easily read any of the books as standalone.
In Fake Dating the Dragon, Minerva Westwind is a young human who is about to lose her business, a bookstore catering to monsters. Ethan Blade is a rich dragon, looking to expand his business into human territory, but a new law will prevent him unless he’s in a personal relationship with a human.
The two are brought together by the mysterious Amina Thrimble who arranges partnerships for just such situations. It’s clear from the time that they meet, that Ethan and Min have feelings for each other, but they both fight those feelings, afraid that the other is not truly interested.
If you’ve read any of my other reviews on this series, I will sound like a broken record when I say how much I love the world building in this series. I find it interesting how the author fills in the history of the monsters and humans and makes it seem so real.
I also loved to see how Min and Ethan’s relationship grew. Min’s especially, as she was originally so bookish and shy, due to her rather limited social experience. I just loved seeing her blossom.
The side characters were also interesting, and I hope some of them pop up in other books in the series (we have seen a few past characters pop up in other books, so it’s not unrealistic to think that it might happen).
If you love a good, light, paranormal romance, then I think you would enjoy this book.
Warning, there is one scene which may be disturbing for those with SA triggers. Not by the main character, and it was stopped by another character, but it may be disturbing to some.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fake Dating the Dragon will be available on March 25 2024.
