The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter was one of my Book of the Month Club picks for December. It was not my main pick, but I chose it as one of my add-ons because it was Christmas themed. I wasn’t expecting much from it, but it was such a fun read!
A combination of enemies to lovers romance, and cozy mystery,, The Most Wonderful Crime of the year was the perfect blend of two of my favourite genres. Add to that that it was set at an English country manor during the Christmas season and I was in heaven.
The dialogue between the two main characters was witty and humorous, and it soon became obvious that at least one of them did not consider themselves the enemy.
The mystery was sufficiently interesting, and the culprit, well, I won’t say they were the last person one would expect because I actually guessed it early on, but it wasn’t actually obvious, just a feeling I had.
The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year was an enjoyable, easy read and I would recommend it to any lover of the romance or mystery genres.
