Molly the maid is back to solve another mystery in The Maid’s Secret, the third full length book in The Maid series by Nita Prose.
This was not my favourite entry in the series, however it was still entertaining and an enjoyable read.
The mystery this time around is a more personal one, when Molly brings a trinket to the recording of an Antiques Roadshow type program, only to find out it’s enormously valuable. She puts it up for auction, only for it to mysteriously disappear.
We spend a lot of time in this book getting more background on Molly’s gran and her family. Although I found it interesting, and it did provide insight into the present day mystery, I felt it dragged the book down a bit. I would much rather have spent more time with Molly, and the characters around her.
If you’re a fan of the series I think you won’t want to miss this. If you aren’t yet a fan, you could start with this book, but I recommend starting with book one to really get to know the characters
