ARC Review: The Silver Fox Vampire by Lilith Stone

Cover of The Silver Fox Vampire by Lilith Stone showing a man and woman back to back slightly turned towards the front, both wearing suits.

The Silver Fox Vampire is book 8 in Lilith Stone’s Motham City Monsters paranormal romance series and it’s a fantastic addition to one of my favourite paranormal romance series.

Clare Doyle is a young human police detective whose former best friend disappeared shortly after taking a job in Motham City. Clare has promised the young woman’s mother that she will find her. Oliver Hale, a vampire over 200 years old, and Clare’s old boss, has been convinced to return to the Motham City Police Department to help find the young woman and 4 other humans who went missing in mysterious circumstances. After avoiding each other for the past several years, they are about to be thrown together again, and sparks are going to fly.

The story is told in third person from dual points of view, those of Clare and Oliver. I enjoy this point of view, and being able to see the perspectives of both characters. I liked both Clare and Oliver, they both had been through some difficult experiences when they were young, Oliver’s experiences were probably much more traumatic than Clare’s but they seemed well suited to each other despite their age difference (200 years give or take).

The Silver Fox Vampire is a second chance romance, with interesting characters, a suspenseful mystery, and a little bit of spice thrown in for good measure. Although it is part of a series, and there are a few returning characters from previous books, each book in the series is easily read as a standalone.

If you enjoy a good paranormal romance with a mystery featuring an evil villain who gets his just desserts, then give The Silver Fox Vampire a try.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
