ARC Review: One Knight’s Bride by Claire Delacroix

One Knight’s Bride by Claire Delacroix is book 4 in her Rogues and Angels Medieval Romance series, and as usual this book did not disappoint.

Amaury de Montvieux returns home to find his father has died, his home and the entire village around it has been burned, and the people disappeared. When a marriage between he and Isabella de Marni’s, the daughter of his family’s neighbour and long-time enemy, is proposed as a way for him to recover his family legacy, he agrees and the two are married. Soon though it’s clear that there is someone plotting the downfall of both families and they must work together to uncover the plot.

I am never disappointed in a Claire Delacroix book. She  somehow always has me on the edge of my seat, wondering how she is going to pull off a happy ending, when the odds are so stacked against the main characters, and yet somehow she always manages to do it.

Amaury and Isabella face no end of peril, some of it may have been preventable due to some questionable decisions, but there were so many sources of danger, that it’s debatable whether they could have taken any other actions and remained safe.

I really loved the way the relationship developed between Isabella and Amaury, how they learned to trust the other, and how Isabella blossomed as Amaury showed appreciation for her insights.

Of course I also loved seeing Amaury fall hard for his new wife, especially after his statement that he was not looking for love in a marriage.

If you’re looking for a great medieval romance with action, intrigue, betrayal, and at the heart of it all, friendship and love, then One Knight’s Bride is well worth the read.  In the meantime, I will be patiently waiting for the next book in the series.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

One Knight’s Bride will be available on April 20 2026.
