Tracey @ It’s a T-Sweets Day is running a learn to quilt series as a Quilt Along, and I’m happy to say I’ve joined in. Last weekend I went shopping for my fantastic fabric (thanks to the ladies at Quilty Pleasures for all their assistance), and this past week I got all of my pieces cut by following Tracy’s directions from lesson 2.
I was off to a slow start. The first night I only got my 2-inch squares cut from the cream coloured fabric.
The next night I got the teal and pink floral fabric cut into 1 1/2-inch and 2-inch wide strips. Both were 6 1/2-inches long.
Finally a few days later, I was able to finish cutting all of my pieces.
It was quite a job, but I’m happy to say I’m finally ready to move on to the first sewing lesson! I’m already one lesson behind, two by the time this posts. But I will get there eventually.
Have you ever made a quilt? What was your experience with your first one? Have you made others, or did your first one put you off quilting? Personally, I’m hoping this is a success, because I’m already planning a second!
You are on your way! No rush, just enjoy the process:). The lessons will be waiting for you as you go at your own pace. I’m excited to see how these beautiful soft colors make up:). Your cutting looks Great!!

I know myself, I have to stay fairly close to the schedule or I’ll lose interest and it will get swept to the side for some other project, lol.
