Tea Advent Calendar Day 14 – Lemon Pound Cake

I have to tell you, this one smells so, so, yummy, it almost makes me want to run out and buy some real pound cake. Or I could just sit and smell the tea in the tin all day, and dream about it! The description for Lemon Pound Cake says it’s a buttery, citrus oolong. Oolong is one of my favourite types, so I have high hopes for this tea. Plus as already stated, it smells heavenly..lemony, sweet, and creamy. Yum!

I decided to pull out another teapot today. I love this one because of the colour, plus the cup stacks on top of it for easy storage, and it has a basket infuser, so really, it’s the whole package.

It smelled so delicious as it was brewing, I really did wish for a piece of cake or something to go along with it. I settled for a couple of Belgian cookies from the tin I bought last week while I was out shopping. In addition to lemongrass, and lemon peel, this tea has sunflower blossom and white hibiscus flower, and I was anxious to take my first sip to see if the floral additions were detectable.

Lemon Pound Cake is very light tasting. The lemon is probably the strongest flavour, but for all that the tea is not sour at all, instead it is very smooth and creamy. Although I wouldn’t really say it is sweet in any way, I did not feel the need to add anything to it to make it more palatable.

Although it has not pushed Organic Silk Dragon Jasmine out of first place in my list of favourites from this year’s Advent calendar, I think it easily takes second place, and will be going on my list of teas to buy.

On a side note, I know my blog has taken a bit of a turn lately, but I will be getting back to the craft posts. Too much work, and running around, doesn’t make for a lot of time for crafts unfortunately. (I really miss it!) Hopefully that will be remedied shortly. I have the whole week off for Christmas starting on the afternoon of December 22, and I can’t wait to be lazy and do some crafting!
