Raspberry Cream Pie is a Rooibos Tea, and is a new flavour for me. David’s Tea describes Raspberry Cream Pie as a “creamy blend of rooibos, raspberries and white chocolate”. Sounds good doesn’t it? I certainly thought so, and I was excited to give it a try.
After opening and sniffing the contents of the tin, I realized that this was another one of those teas that I could just sit and smell all day. The scent reminded me of raspberry coffee cake, or maybe raspberry ripple ice cream. I couldn’t wait to heat the water and make it!
I added the tea to the infuser in my teapot, poured nearly boiling water over, and steeped the tea for 5 minutes. At the end, the scent of the tea made it smell like I was baking something in my kitchen.
Since it was a chilly Friday night and I was spending a quiet evening at home, I decided to have my tea with a couple of cookies, and some colouring, while I put Holiday Inn on to play in the background. It’s one of my favourite holiday movies.
The first sip was delightful. A bit of creamy sweetness with a light raspberry flavour. I did notice that the flavour came out more strongly as the tea cooled, but it was good no matter what the temperature was.
I rank this flavour pretty highly…it might even rival the Lemon Pound Cake from yesterday! It has definitely made it to my to buy list!
I had never had it before either and really liked it:)
