Hot Chocolate is a mixture of pu’erh and black tea, and is the only chocolate tea I have ever tried, and actually liked. I have been a fan for a couple of years, so when I pulled the drawer this evening and saw it I was very happy. Only 3 more days left in the Advent Calendar, and although I had a quick peek at a few last week, I didn’t look at all of the upcoming flavours, so I’m anxious to see what the remaining days have in store.
But back to Hot Chocolate. As you can see, it’s nice and dark, and has lots of chocolate and cocoa added to it. When I opened the tin to smell it, it smelled like a box of dark chocolates. Yum!
I steeped it for 5 minutes with nearly boiling water, and then settled in to enjoy it, while watching a childhood favourite, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. (I love the snow monster, he’s a big softy.) The tea tasted, as you may have guessed from the name, like hot chocolate. The only difference was that it was not as rich and creamy as I usually make my hot chocolate, since I usually make it with milk and a bit of cream. Still, the taste was there, and it was a nice substitute.
And a bonus! I have hardly had time for crafting lately, but I started this hat last weekend, and I’ve slowly been adding a row or two every night. It’s finally getting closer to being done. I’m hoping I can finish it tomorrow, since I’m done work around 1 pm, and am on vacation until January 2! Lots of time for crafting, coming up!
The hat is made with Caron Cupcakes yarn in Tutti Frutti. I love that it comes with the pompom ready to attach when the hat is done. The pattern is from the back of the wrapper and is pretty much just half double crochet, so even if you’re tired (like I have been this week), you don’t really have to think about it, just count the stitches occasionally to make sure you are still on track.
The hat is lookin splendid! Here’s to time off and crafting!!🎉
