Review: My Lucky Star by Enni Amanda

My Lucky Star by Enni Amanda

My Lucky Star by Enni Amanda is a romcom set in New Zealand and Turkey and is the first of her books that I’ve had the opportunity to read, but after reading this book I’ll be checking out more of her work.

Tired of the struggle to become a famous actress, Aria has turned her back on her dreams and retreated to her hometown of Napier, New Zealand. She is still working in the film industry, but now she works to attract big film productions to Napier and the surrounding region.

Cem, a Turkish film star, has been banished to Napier by his family after being caught on camera in an embarrassing situation.

When the two meet, Cem is taken aback by the Aria’s resemblance to his ex -girlfriend/co-star, and when his brother arrives, they come up with a crazy plan for Aria to pretend to be his ex, and be seen with him, in order to help restore his reputation in Turkey.

You can imagine how well that plan turns out.

At the beginning of the book the author provided a list of Turkish words and names with pronunciation, and definitions which I found very helpful as I was reading. I was really interested in the glimpses we were given into the Turkish culture.

I recommend My Lucky Star if you’re looking for a fun, quick read.

Thanks to BookSirens and the author for providing an ARC of this book for review.

My Lucky Star releases on June 15 2023 and will be available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.
