I feel a bit like a broken record here. I haven’t worked much on my crafty projects this week, I still have the following projects sitting in the same state they’ve been in for a while now:
- Winter doily – by Grace Fearon at Emilyandthe Handmade.
- Evelyn doily – by Grace Fearon at Emilyandthe Handmade
- Alluring knitted throw – from Leisure Arts Big Book of Quick Knit Afghans
- Feather and Fan Shawl – by Lion Brand
- Pins and Stripes Learn to Quilt Quilt Along by Tracy at It’s a T-Sweets Day!
My sewing has been on hold the last few weeks because I had to pack up my sewing space to make room for my futon while I had company. Now, I need to do some rearranging to make sewing space again. I hope I can get to it soon so that I can get back to it, because I have some other small sewing ideas that I want to try out!
I have done a bit of work on the Starlight Christmas Afghan for my friend. I added one more full motif, and started on another. I don’t think I mentioned that this is a Leisure Arts pattern and is available for purchase on Ravelry at the link provided.
I also realized that I should get my act together, because there are more motifs to make for this afghan than I remembered. For some reason I had the number 50 stuck in my brain, but in reality, there are a total of 61 motifs, so I have just over 57 to go! That means I need to do a lot more than one per week, unless my friend doesn’t want her afghan until next year!
I love the way this pattern is coming together, but I will say that the joining instructions are not the best. I think I finally have it worked out in my head though, so as long as I don’t put it down for any length of time, it should be okay. I bought yarn to do a second afghan in this pattern, but in a burgundy and cream, we’ll see if I actually do it once I get this one completed!
Have you started any holiday, or winter projects yet? I would love to see what you’re doing! Maybe I’ll see some ideas for other gifts!
I need to think about Christmas, you’re doing well to have even started!

To be fair, I actually started this right before last Christmas but with the understanding that it wouldn’t be finished until this Christmas.
