My Weight Loss Journey – Week 26

This week’s post is a short one. Unfortunately, I haven’t  been feeling the greatest, so I haven’t tried any new recipes in the last week. I found a really great looking mushroom recipe that I want to try this week, so I’ll definitely post that next week.

I spoiled myself a little last week. I had a meeting with some colleagues at the office, and as usual we went out for lunch. I had a fantastic Greek Chicken Salad wrap, and I have to say, it was worth every point! It had grilled chicken, feta sauce, red onions, lettuce…and probably a few other things I can’t recall, all wrapped up in flatbread. It was so tangy and delicious, I can still almost taste it!

Then on Friday night I finally gave in to the craving for pizza that I’ve had for over a week, and ordered one in. Again, worth the points, and now I don’t have that craving. I love that I can still eat foods that I love and not feel guilty about it, and still lose weight!

I am happy to say that I lost another 2.3 pounds this week for a total of 56.4 pounds! In case anyone is wondering that puts me at 229.6 pounds, with 79.6 pounds to go. My next big personal goal is 68 pounds, which will be the halfway mark for me. In the meantime, I have a couple of smaller goals to hit…60, and 65 pounds. I love setting these smaller goals, they help to keep me motivated, instead of getting down looking at the longer term goal all the time.

  1. You are doing great! Are you feeling like you have the system down now, or are you still trying to find your zone? I lost some weight several years ago, but I still remember that victorious feeling of seeing 2 pounds less in a week. It really adds up over several months. Congrats on eating out with finesse!

    1. Thanks! When it comes to food choices, yes, I think I’ve found what works for me without leaving me feeling deprived. I need to do more on the activity side though, I did well right after I got my Fitbit, then it started raining every day and threw a wrench into my plans. I need to find that motivation again.

      1. Last resort, adopt a border collie…they do not accept no when they want to take a walk! I may be bucking the trend here, but when I lost my weight the only exercise I did was walking. Granted, my corgi/border collie had me doing 15-20 minute miles, but our circuit around the park (1.8 miles) 2 X a day burned it up pretty fast! Now he is elderly and much slower, but it still keeps me on track.
