Cute name for today’s tea, it made me giggle a bit when I saw it. The Spice is Right is a green tea, and when I opened the tin, to smell it, it smelled strongly of cinnamon and cloves. Again. I’m not sure what it is with all this cinnamon tea, but once again I tried to keep an open mind.
The instructions for steeping most green teas from David’s Tea say to steep them for 2-4 minutes. I was surprised to see that this one recommended 3-5 minutes. I find that with green tea, the shorter the steeping time the better, so I steeped mine for 3 minutes. After it steeped, I could see that there was also some kind of fruit in the tea mixture, but I wasn’t sure what it was, so I looked it up. It turned out to be orange peel.
No surprise that this tea tastes like cinnamon and cloves, and I couldn’t taste the orange peel. Happily though, the cinnamon and cloves were not too strong, and the cloves gave it slightly sweet flavour which became stronger as it cooled. All in all, I would have to say that The Spice is Right is a nice tea to sip while having a Cherry Tart, and relaxing after a busy day.
For those who follow me, my weight loss journey post will be up tomorrow. I had a super busy day today, and just didn’t get it written. Sometimes life just doesn’t co-operate with blog schedules!
