Sadly, no yummy recipes again this week, and I’m super late posting my progress this week. My weigh in day was Monday, and it went well. I lost another 1.1 pounds, bringing me to a total of 96.1 pounds lost. My goal now is to try to keep making healthy choices for myself for the next two weeks while I’m on vacation and not in control of making all of my meals. This will be the true test to see if my resolve to make this a lifestyle change sticks.
Unfortunately preparing for my upcoming trip has been consuming all of my spare time. I put in almost a full week of work in the first three days of the week this week, so I haven’t opportunity for much of anything. Plus there was all the running around for last minute items, and making sure I had everything for Truffles’ stay with friends.
The hardest thing about this trip has been thinking about leaving Truffles and knowing I won’t see him for two whole weeks. Other than the time I spent away from him while I sat with my mom when she was in the hospital just before she passed away, I have only been away from him for a couple of days, less than a handful of times in twelve years, but I know he is with friends, and not stuck in a kennel all alone, so he’ll be fine. The apartment is very quiet and a bit lonely tonight though, as I make final preparations and checks.
My flight is at 6:30 tomorrow morning so it’s going to be a very early day for me. And with that’s time for me to sign off. I’m sad because I did not get my chocolate recipe made for the Fantastic Bake Along hosted by Tracy at It’s a T Sweets Day!, but I’ll be back to baking next month! In the meantime, I hope I get a chance to post an update or two from my trip. It’s so exciting!
