I have been determined on this journey that I will not treat it like a diet, so that means that occasionally I'm entitled to eat a nice dessert. My only concession is that if I'm making it myself I try to cut back a bit on some of the sugar and fat in a recipe if possible. Last week I decided to try my hand at a slightly lower calorie apple crisp. I also made it in an individual serving size so that I wouldn't be tempted to overeat.
Wow! I can hardly believe it's been 40 weeks since I started my journey. Part of my motivation at the very beginning was to lose some weight before my cruise coming up in February. I honestly was not sure how successful I would be, but I figured every little bit helped, so even though I still have over 50 pounds to go, I'm thrilled with where I am now
Tracey at It's a T-Sweets Day! is hosting another bake along this month, and rather than a single recipe that everyone is making, this month the bake along has a theme. Apples! Our instructions this month were to choose a favourite recipe featuring apples, and make it for the bake along.
My goal last week was to reach or pass my next milestone of 75 pounds, and I'm so happy to report that I passed that milestone! I lost 3 pounds last week for a grand total of 77.2 pounds! My next personal goal is to reach 200 pounds, I'm only 7.8 pounds away from that milestone, and I'm hoping that I can reach it by Christmas. That's six weeks to lose just under 8 pounds. If I can stay on track I should be able to make that goal.
I'm a bit late this week, but I have great news, I’m almost to my next big milestone! When I weighed myself on Monday morning, I was down another 1.5 pounds for a grand total of 74.2 pounds. That’s right, I am less than a pound away from 75 pounds! My goal this week is to keep myself on track and make that milestone by next week.
